Lot of sense

As we're having the Geneva Car Fair now, the level of moto-gayness is rising every hour. Even the most exquisite marques are getting dubai-bling disguise, hire attractive, naked models to earn the publicity; like it would be not enough, they are stupefying us with loud world music. Chrome and sell, they shout. Why is this so?
Cars became feminine - they're treated like the fashion models, and, in some postmodern way, they become ones - beautiful on the first look, typical on the second, and completely dull on the third. Disgusting? Well, if you don't like dull fashion models... There is some kind of hard men that share this point of view. Quite a lot of them work in a Lotus Cars, and they prepared for this year's Geneva something completely different. Instead of showing (off) some new, shiny, plastic-fantastic light sportcar, they put some mechanics on stage. On the Lotus stand there's high tech instead of high heels; engineering instead of emphasing. Simply, there's a part of chassis, that will be used in their future car. It has no fancy name, it has no seducing look; you will not find any glossy brochures overloaded with „value” word. What you will find, is heavy piece of solid knowledge and craftsmanship. Small pieces of aluminium and steel are cut by the Lotus gentlemen, casted, glued and God knows what else. No jokes here; it's a sheer manifestation of engineering experience, and, rule Britannia, nobody wants to seduce wealthy idiots and ignorants with LED lights and Swarovski jewellery. One must have fresh and open mind, to behave so. No marketing magick, no beslaving, no butt-shake contest. It's building cars, not just sellling them. Splendid!
