Super


Škoda is a common sense of VW Group. While VWs are getting Audi, Audis are getting BMW, Lamborghinis are getting Audi (too), Bentleys are going VW and Seat went Alfa years ago (what a mask parade!), it looks that they've lost all realpolitik sense. However, there's an exception in this disguise farce, as Škoda Auto doesn't follow the leader at all.
What they do, is making the most clever cars in Europe. It may not make them pretty, though. Making a Felicia was the best thing to warm up the old business; very cheap and quite well germanised, ie helped to put the old one from knees and start to think about something, well, two epochs more modern. Of course, they were no madmen; no Rolls competitor came. What did come, was the extremely intelligent and practical Octavia, a Golf for those who think and count. Cheaper, Golf-based, bigger and not so unbearably tuneable – again, it as the best what they could do, while we remember not so easy situation of being the ever-doomed Cheap Brand Of VW.
The Roomster was a bewilderment, then. More futuristuc than any of Lambos or Seats (The Sports Brands Of VW), it carries the torch of progress and avant-garde in the small, warm world of grey cars. It one of the most original cars of our times, and noone spots this – because it's a „Škoda”, what both in english and german means „nothing, driven by my romanian plumber”. It's a van Gogh of VW cars – unusual, skillful and totally unnoticed. Nevertheless, after the crazy genius Gauguin came; and he was, as we all know, a stock broker. A clever one.
The new Skoda Superb is another example of unique consciousness and moderation. When everyone wants to produce a sporty limo, (which simply cannot be done because of four doors, weight, size, everything), Škoda Auto puts a proper mean of transport. One look at its profile explains everything: the roof line is very long, what serves the comfort wonderfully and spoils all the bling effect. It's somewhat extreme. It does not look like a Mercedes CLS or Bentley Azure, it's not as costly as them - being considerably bigger, very comfortable and priced with a high brain usage – it's something, that's was not observed since ages.
In nowadays' world of Mansory gayness, limo-coupe crazy, metro- and retro- fuzz, it's so refreshing to know, that there's at least one reasonable group of men on Earth.
Škoda Auto doesn't pretend anything and that's absolutely, gorgeously fascinating.
