There's a oddity, that's called a Möbius strip; the one and only thing in a solar system, that has one side - and has not the reverse. Not many of people understand it, but it's clear - it could not work as a car. A car - it's so obvious - should have both sides to run well. This simple law causes a lot of problems when designing such a machine - because most of the designers can manage only half of a car. It can have neat interior or the fascinating exterior - but rarely both. It may result from the design process, when you don't have enough money and time to process whole car. It may result from the stupidity of the designer, too. All of cars can be divided into three parts, then - the insiders, where the whole potential is put into the interior of a machine, its ride comfort and upholstery. It's like a small karate master, selling vegetables on japanese street. Full of skills, but totally unimpressive. The second kind of a car is a looker, which has nothing to offer except the wonderful, fascinating chassis - and that's all. It remains of a latin lover, who make a lot of charm and children, but doesn't make anything else. Apart from these two species are machines with no drawbacks - these rarities with both sides made well. You can not meet them often, but you can meet them sometimes. Of course, a much more complicated system could be deliberated - but there's no need.
All these divisions can be easily connected to sex as the interior, inner things are more yin and feminine, and exterior ones are all show-off and pretence, what means simply - masculine. And now, we have fresh and new Mercedes Benz GLK. What's this like?
It seems to be the first Mercedes to have no exterior at all. It's no so good news. If you look carefully it's noticeable, that there's much more work and passion hidden in the interior design, that was gave up to the chassis. Chassis, in the modern world, is not important. The problem is, we have very lady-benz here. As more reasonable kind of human, women look for the ride comfort, safety and luxurious interior features which make car much more clever and useful than a fancy 450kmh-spoiler in the back. And as the world turns more and more sophisticated, feminine and gay, the interior design supremacy rises. It's clever - who needs an exterior? It should be aerodynamically efficient, crash safe; it should not have holes, that could make cold wind get inside. That's all that is needed and that's sadly all a new Mercedes can offer. Being such an ugly and comfortable car it can be claimed the first Yin-Benz - a car that has all its advantages inside, but none of them can be seen when you look at it. It's very asian, extremely reasonable, a bit feminine and remarkably sad and boring.
